From the advice of charles hamilton, I'm blogging from my toilet lol. He said its probably the best time to do it so here it goes....
Today Barack Obama became our president. Yes, it is a great day for African Americans, but I think it mayyyy being going a little too far. I feel proud as a young black man now, but I feel more proud to be an American black man. If you've read my profile you should know that I am only half black like President Obama, and from my roots, I have a different perspectivethan most people do on race, as I'm sure he does as well. I honestly cannot stand the divide between races. its great to be proud of your heritage but it is not acceptable what so ever to think your race is "better" than another. And yes, I am targeting this towards black people, because this turned out to be a very good situation but it could have been a tragic one. Imagine if Barack Obama isn't the man he is, would 90% of blacks still vote for him? A better thought would be what if barack obama was a republican? Would it be the same? Or what John McCain was still John McCain but he was black and Obama was white. What would have happened?....
All I'm saying is that as a country, not as blacks or whites or hispanics, we need to pick our leaders for their leadership capabilities and their appearance should not have any part of the defining factor on who u vote for. So americans cherish this moment, but as u do that u should learn from it and teach your children that the color of your skin doesn't haven't to define you, and it shouldn't....
It took me awhile to finish this (a couple days lol) but it didn't hurt anyone....
I'm out. Peace...
Much love
